Gaza teacher turns ruins into classroom, vows war will not kill children's dreams

In the heart of Gaza's ruins, where war has silenced classrooms, a teacher with empty hands and a heart full of hope is planting the seeds of the future in the minds of children who still dream of building a brighter tomorrow.

Hawzah News Agency- What follows is a short narrative based on a report by Arab media activist Raed Mousa about the efforts of a Palestinian teacher to keep education alive for Gaza's children amid the devastation of war.

In Gaza, where war has destroyed many schools, there are still teachers who refuse to let the light of education go out.

Mahmoud Hamad, a Palestinian teacher, has not abandoned the classroom despite all the hardships. He gathers his students in the open air, under the shade of trees and in the courtyards of damaged schools, so they can continue to learn.

There are no longer well-equipped classrooms or the usual school facilities here — but the teacher has come to teach the children that even in the hardest of conditions, one can still think about the future.

What makes this simple class so powerful is the dreams of children who, despite living among the rubble, still hold visions of their own tomorrow.

Mu'tasim, a seven-year-old student, wants to become an engineer and rebuild Gaza's destroyed factories.

Sama dreams of becoming a doctor to help the wounded, and nine-year-old Jud wants to become a teacher — so that one day she can teach other children herself.

These children face a severe lack of educational resources, and many of them have endured difficult days; yet they have not given up on their dreams.

For them, studying is not just about learning a few words and numbers — it is a path to a better future.

Mahmoud Hamad, by holding classes among the ruins, shows that education cannot be confined to walls and buildings alone.

Perhaps these children are not sitting on ordinary school benches today, but they can still dream of building hospitals, schools and factories.

In Gaza, the schools have been destroyed, but the children's dreams are still alive — and there are teachers who will not let hope for the future be buried beneath the rubble.
